I wanted to post this because it solidifies my point. Doctors are tired of towing the line for the AMA, and other lobbying groups. At one time they were silent because they thought big pharma, medical associations, and insurers would help advance their cause to be appropriately paid. Today they realize that there is no we, everyone is for themselves. If you think about it a public option allows physicians to participate in is program that is just like Medicare... They Get Paid as soon as they submit the paper work. Unlike the insurers who look for loopholes not to pay physicians. So when a claim is denied to a physician...where does the money disappear to? The bottom line of the insurers, known as the bonus pool. So doctors, now you understand the system. "Every group for himself and Profit for us all. " Who suffers?

I find it very interesting that the Health Care Lobby is spending $1.4 mil a day to help influence. islation. We are in a battle for the Public Option plan as well as the public good. Many of you may know, Sen. Max Bachus, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee is being lobbied by his ex chiefs of staff David Castagnetti and Jeff Forbes representing big time clients in the PhRMA, and Insurance industries (see article above). Congress should pass an ethics law preventing this for at least several years

It is important for us to get this information out to those who will take action. We must do our part to put pressure on Congress (phone and write your Senators and Congressman, send letters to your local newspapers) to let them know that there will be a penalty for those who vote against the Public Option.

We must passionately support the legislation found below in this blog. The special interest groups are betting that we will not be as motivated as they are to pass legislation which will insure all of us are covered, cost is reduced, and quality improved. That's why the battle is on. Do your part and we can win.

We finally got some action from the Ted Kennedy's Health Care Reform Committee. As you may recall, the first incomplete draft was railed by Republicon's as too expensive and released before a full bill could be assessed. Well, Ted showed them...He has brought a bill which is far less than what the expectations were and it includes a Public Option. I have placed a link to the Huff Post article above and a link to the Bill if anyone is interested. Read it over the Holiday....Happy 4th of July!

Big Pharma Thinks You're Stupid...

When the President stated that the Pharma's were going to close 50% of the doughnut for those on Medicaid, I said NOT ENOUGH. You see I am a Medicaid recipient and while I applaud the effort those seniors and disabled will still be paying about $2300 a year FOR THEIR MEDICATION which is above the co-pay... such as the Advantage and Rx portion we pay as premiums to cover additional above and beyond expenses.

Many of you may ask why pay additional premiums for your coverage...well some of it might be shrewd salespeople duping the elderly. On the other hand, those who have excessive bills and hospital stays are caught between Medicare and Private insurers who have been allowed to game a system by offering Cadillac Plans. These Cafeteria Plans are designed for the public as either or and coverage is based on known Medicare charges plus their incentive in additional premium charges to carry that type of plan. Therefore there is really No Choice!

This is why we need the Public Option...to help drive down cost and strip away the collusion these Medical and Pharma plans have designed to fool the consumer. When you hear the argument that the Insurers believe that an inept Government will put them out of business,...stop, pause and wonder why a private for profit company can't compete with an inept governmental entity? Can they not compete? This is a good attempt to fool the consumers by the Pharmaceutical Industry...AARP,...Max Bachus and his cronies in the Senate who continue to take the $50 mil in contributions this year but it won't stop the rollng tide for Health Care Reform that includes the Public Option.

He must pass Health Care Reform and Energy Reform with a Ram-Rod not Bi-partisanship. He must be as Bill Maher said,..."As tenacious as George Bush was with his unjust war...Iraq! You see this President must understand that although most Americans like him as a leader, it is the minority who has always had a clinched fist on the purse strings and governing. Those are the right wing Neo-cons, Religious Right, Conservative...blah, blah, blah who never had America's best interest at heart. These are the people who got us into this trouble in the first place and are not going to roll over easily. You psychotic, dogmatic, ignorant Repubi-cone-heads who think we are safer look at the data. 9/11 occurred on your Watch. WMD as a justification and Torture happened on your Watch. Trampling of the Constitution was justified on your Watch. Failed economic and regulatory policies were implemented. on your Watch. Global recession, affecting all started on Watch. Need I say more?

To have the Cheyney’s represent any viewpoint of anyone other than themselves is outrageous and very pathetic. It is a sad commentary of not only our news media but also demonstrates how averse Neo-conservatives and the media are to the truth.

The American people are not stupid yet you still want to ignore the fact that the people spoke on Election Day. It was a resounding NO to the past. A resounding NO to the Republican Party! A resounding NO to the Bush Administration and Dick! A resounding NO to rewriting history and more importantly a resounding NO to the media as shown by more people going to the web to get the news. The science is clear: without swift and bold action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, our planet is in peril of warming to levels that will increase weather extremes and seriously damage fresh water supplies, agriculture, coastlines, human health, ecosystems, and international security.

We need a "cap, tax, and rebate" system that will set an emissions cap, tax the carbon burned, and return the revenue to consumers.

H.R. 1337, America's Energy Security Trust Fund Act of 2009, does just that: It sets a cap of allowable carbon dioxide emissions to 80 percent below 2005 levels by 2050; charges producers an increasing tax per ton to get there, and returns well over 90 percent of the revenue to the consumer. The remaining money goes to helping the most heavily impacted employees and industries transition to the new green economy, and to fund clean energy technologies.

This bill creates a long-term predictable price on carbon that provides a stable incentive for low-carbon investments and innovation, and avoids the price volatility of a carbon market.

Burt Prelutsky was a TV writer a long time ago. Then he aged out of it and became a crank. This wasn't one of those major loses like Steinbeck. Now he writes a column for Townhall.com, the popular website owned by a Christian radio network.
Here's something from his current offering:
Take Michelle Obama...please. Every time I turn around, there she is on a magazine cover. Now, normally, like the Mafia, I lay off the spouses, but inasmuch as this particular spouse attended the same racist church as her hubby for 20 years, I'll make an exception in her case. After all, in spite of the fact that affirmative action got her an Ivy League degree and a $7,000-a-week salary and, moreover, has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa, she insists this is a mean country. The burning question in my circle is: if the First Family gets a female dog, will she be the First Bitch or will she have to settle for second place?
Get it? Because "bitch" had two meanings!
Ah, Christian-sponsored humor. That's not just funny. That's Jesus funny.
Weird that Burt Prelutsky doesn't work more. Because that "take my wife... please" bit is also pure dynamite. Must be ageism.
Naturally, the left-wing media is now trying to convince us that this James Brown-look-alike has all the allure, glamour and fashion sense of Jackie Kennedy.

If you read Burt Prelutsky's columns, you'll see that he isn't a racist; he just has a lot of thoughts -- I mean a lot -- about how black people should behave. If Langston Hughes had talked about black people as much at Burt Prelutsky does, someone would have told him to sit down.

I would like to say that you misrepresented President Obama's comments in regard to 'blaming America first', to say the least you failed to mention his next statement when he criticized 'European Anti-Americanism'. To say the least your childish and goonish approach to the news is indicative of coporate sentiment and your small mindedness. Simply put your comments are intellectually equal to a cock roach walking into a trap. If you were true to yourself you would admit that the President has been more effective than any President since FDR.
